The Mayor’s House By Selda: Experience the Essence of Mediterranean Cuisine

I can see why this place has such a high rating. We went there for dinner one night, and everything was great. First of all the restaurant itself has a really cool atmosphere and vibe. It looks like it’s in a really old house that’s been turned into a restaurant. Our server was brand new, but very sweet and very helpful. What she didn’t know she was happy to find out. The food was excellent. I wish I could tell you what we ordered, but I have no idea what it was called. The appetizer was especially delicious. It was kind of like an egg roll on the outside and filled with some type of cheese. That is a terrible description. Lol. And the drinks and the entrées were also delicious. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the dessert. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and relatives.

Lindsay was fantastic! She knew the menu inside and out, made great recommendations, and her service was prompt and attentive—especially impressive since we had a large table. We celebrated two birthdays and she helped make the experience amazing. Truly top-notch service!

Lindsey is fantastic! What a wonderful and caring server. She really knows how to take care of her guests. Very hard working. And the food here is top notch. The Tres Leches cake will change your life.

This restaurant was so amazing , I went for Valentine’s Day booked reservations and was treated with good attitude and respect when I walked in , made me feel super comfortable. I never had this type of food before our server was nice to help us with options that were her favorites, we sat inside by the fire place area near the restrooms. Our server was so kind , their was another gentleman with a flow haircut who helped us aswell super nice people here the food is amazing cooked to perfection and the drinks 10/10 White Russian so amazing , Moscow muscles exellent thank you for the great experience

We’re fans of Selda so we were excited to experience some top tier Turkish cuisine in a unique setting. This used to be the house of the mayor of Oak Cliff almost a century ago, hence the name of the restaurant. If you’re familiar with Selda, the menu is largely the same with some minor tweaks. You need to get the Fried Cauliflower, Lamb Shank, and the Beef Shish, Lamb Shish and any of the Pide (flatbread). The portions are more than generous and the prices are surprising. You’re going to get a lot of value regardless of whatever you get! Be sure to leave room for their Baklava. Theirs is the best in the metroplex!

Food was all delicious. We shared around the table. 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and a flat bread were plenty of food for the four of us. Our server, Selva was excellent. We enjoyed dessert outside afterwards. The pistachio chocolate cake was delicious .

A great spot at bishop arts district. Great food, great service, and after dinner, go for a walk around the town. Super cozy, super aesthetic. Definitely a great place to go out for a date, the food we ordered was both authentic, flavorful, and very filling.

I recommend ordering family style. The lamb chops and fried cauliflower are a must order. Everyone loved them, adult and child. The cauliflower was perfectly cooked and not oily. It also had a great yogurt sauce. The Ali Nazik had the prefect ratio of meat to eggplant. This is also another must order. The stuffed dates and beet salad were more spinach salads, but still good. We also got the lahmacun, halloumi cheese, and hummus. For dessert we got a chocolate cake, biscoff cake, strawberry mousse dessert and tiramisu. The mousse was delicious but the tiramisu went perfectly with the Turkish coffee. The kids loved the chocolate cakes. The building and decor are beautiful and classy. It has both trendy younger clientele and older groups which are divided well in different areas. It was very busy. I would recommend a reservation.
